Anyone out? I took A personal day so I’m here giving it a go. I’ve seen 4 so far. 2 spikes and 2 doe. The does were weary and never really committed to coming in. The spikes were at 15 yard for a while.
I’m just going to sit for an hour or so then go back to the spot we sat last night. Kam got a shot at the doe we call lumpy. She has the big tumor on her jaw. It looked good, but a little back. She had taken a step right before the shot and was quartered to us a little. We followed blood for a couple hundred yards but the lights died. I kept trying with my phone, but it didn’t work as well.

I've said it every year, and end up hunting early. Looks like I might hold out this year, but I'm gonna keep working till the 1st of Nov. then hit the public hard.

 

I’m here. Same spot as yesterday evening. The current trend for this place is holding up. Nothing so far. I have one hunting day left and then back to the boat. Believe it or not, the warmer weather set in the day I came home. The cooler temperatures are starting the day I go back. You can’t make this up!

 

They were munching on the acorns. The 2 doe and one of the spikes came in from right behind me. Straight down wind. I‘m not sure how they didn’t smell me.

She made it about 60 yards past where we lost blood. She’s a nasty sucker.

 

Did her a favor. Save the tag and let the coyotes tag her instead.

 

Great shot tho, surprised she didn’t go 20….

 

That’s what I thought. Maybe it was too low. 371 yards according to OnX. Thankful the Megameat left a decent blood trail or I would have never knew it circled back.

 

To low, got 1 lung and liver

 

I’d buy single lung but looks a long way from the liver on entrance and exit. Looks like a perfect heart shot, but heart shot deer don’t run 400yds. Looks like where I aim every time.

 

Back at this afternoon. Finally get to hunt solo, so I’m in a lock on where the pigs have been very regular. Rain just let up so I’m hoping for some action.

 

We’ve had 1.82” of rain here today.

 

I wish we had half that, we may have got a quarter inch if that.

I learned something this afternoon. Apparently hogs blow like deer. I had a doe out eating and the hog started to come in. It (the hog) blew and then ran off grunting.
