Are there any left handed shooters who own a flat side ar15 without the brass deflector? Do you have any problems with the brass hitting you in the face? Thanks.

I don't know about the modern AR's but the old colt SP1 & M16s were noted for putting hot brass down the collar of lefties when I was in the Army. I doubt much has changed on ARs WITHOUT a brass deflector.

Do you have a slick side or a brass deflector on your upper?

I've played with one or 2 over the years just trying them as lefties and that brass is slinging out too fast to be that close to my pretty face!!

I did on my last one but my new one doesn't. I never had any problems with either.

Well.. Thanks for the advice. My face isn't all that pretty but I am kinda a sissy when it comes to hot objects to the face. I think I will play it safe and go with the brass deflector.
