Got up here Saturday morning, 40 degrees Sunday like to have froze runny down the lake. Sunday has been best day so far. 2 of us put 68 in the boat in about 3 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the afternoon. A few northern pike, several walleye ( most I’ve ever caught up here) and the rest 1.75 to 3.5 smallmouth. No real big ones yet, but lots of chunk 3 pounders. Several on top water, but 2.8 swim bait and 5” Kalin grubs have been the best producers. Supposed to hit 80 degrees this weekend and they have issued a heat advisory for then.

Water Vertebrate Lake Sky Mammal

Caught 30 this morning from 5:30 to 11:00 , this is close to average. They are just moving into the bays. Saturday-Tuesday all fish were on the main points and very first banks inside the bays, this morning all of the bays were full of fish all the way back to the ends of the bays, every boat dock had fish on them, didn’t catch a single fish off a dock until today. Caught several off beds. About 1/2 on Zara Spooks( 2 hook size) and the other 1/2 on small swim baits, TRD , flukes and swimming a 5” Kalin grub.

Samuel, I'm so jealous I could cry. That is just freaking awesome.

However, I have no idea why you'd want to touch one of those pike/grinnel/gar thingies. Ugh.

But a smallmouth? Just something we don't have enough of...........

I tried to get a buddy of mine to go in on a cabin for a week but no luck. I saw there is a campground owned by a casino very near where you stay. I have a slide in truck camper so I can go by myself. Any input on the campground I'm talking about?

Started working a part time job that has basically turned into a full time job. Next year I get vacation days and hope to get to go then. Have fun and really enjoy you sharing the trip.

Got home about 9 last night, left Pike Bay at 4:00am, it was 42 degrees. Caught a lot of 2 to 3 3/4 pound smallmouths, lots of walleye and several pike. Had a great week with a great group. The folks at the lodge were great as usual, got caught up with some folks I’ve grown to know over my 10 trips I’ve made the last 10 Junes. Several good friends that I see almost every year up there that make the trip the same time as us every year. We booked our stay for next year before we left this year.
