...another hobby!!:smack:

I went to do a little scouting for buffalo and didn't do any good.

I did get in a field that was FULL of gar though!!

I have know idea how many I actually shot...but it was more than I ever expected to shoot in a lifetime!! This field was covered in sheet water from ankle to half knee deep. And it was teeming with gar!!!

There were thousands of 'em... for real. I never knew that many gar existed in the whole world! I busted the nock off the only arrow I had and had to call it quits, but Hill Farm Hunter hooked me up with a spare and I fixed mine, so I'm headed back tomorrow.

I really want to get a mess of buffs... but it was so much fun that I'll settle for shooting gar!

There's a ditch close by that may hold some buffs so I plan to hit it first, but if all else fails I'll go stab some needle mouths!!!

I should have never bought that arrow a couple of weeks ago!!!!! TOO fun!!!!

Gar were fun for me to shoot when i first started, years ago. After the first time i got into some good carp and buffalo, the little gar were just a waste of time to me. Last year a buddy and I found a great buffalo spot and shot 20 to 25 every afternoon we went....all through the summer. Hope they are back this year as i have a digital cam now and will post some pics. Another thing you can look into... AGFC lakes that have had grass carp stocked. I have shot some up to 40lbs plus and those boys can pull a boat around! One of these days i am gonna go after an alligator gar. Good luck. TD
