How much junk email do you get ? I get about 400 emails a day and most of them are junk. I'm sick of emails about the little blue pill, how to increase body parts, and how to get a date. How do you stop these emails ?

What e-mail account are you using. I used to get a ton on hotmail even trying to use the filters. I switched over to yahoo and haven't had 50 in the last year. Make sure you have a good pop-up blocker, too.

sometimes clicking that will only make it worse. lets them know its a usable e-mail address and they will hit you more
That's been the case for me.

My old netscape account got taken over by AOL, and the only good thing to come from that is AOL has a system where you can report SPAM. After you do that, you'll never hear from that particular spammer again. Only problem is that you have to stay on top of it and report all spam e-mail. New ones pop up every day!

Check with your ISP and see if they can help you with key words to filter that junk out. I have it cut down to about one per week now. :thumb:

All of it is worse than termites trying to get at a pine 2 x 4. Even with all of the firewalls, blockers, anti-spamming software we have, sometimes a crummy piece of spyware wiggles in.

In visiting many websites to get info on equipment/parts/etc. you just leave a trail like a rabbit and a huge pack of coyotes is always trailing you. I've clicked on legitimate sites only to be thown over to some porn place! Those rat hole sites are infested with spyware and destructive viruses etc. It's just a never ending clean up to protect your system.

Every so often - twice in the last few days - I've gotten a pop up message saying a certain virus or worm was deleted by the protection software. Creepy!

Quit looking at porn! Actually, you probably need to right click on internet icon, go to properties, and delete temporary internet files and cookies. Works for me. It'll remove the spyware from your computer. good luck!

I opened a new e-mail account a few weeks ago on Yahoo, was going to switch to see if I could dodge some of the spam and junk by using a new account, I never did use it, because when I checked it a week after opening it and it had more junk mail than my regular account. I had never sent any mail or gave the address to anyone, yet they still found it.:smack:
