Monday we hit the water at about 10:30 am. We had it slow until maybe noon, very low water, stiff north wind, bright sunshine. No other boats on water. From Noon until maybe 3 pm we hammered german browns in one certain hole of water. We had 6 over 16", one went 22" (the one in hangin from the scale). Most were really long and lean, almost poor fish. I've never caught that many german browns before. We totaled probably 25 in that 3 hour period, from 12" to that one 22" fish. They don't look as big in the pictures, but they were nice fish !
We caught maybe 30-40 rainbows, tops at maybe 2 pounds each.
Tuesday we went back, thinking maybe a big brown was in the plans. A bit higher water (maybe 1' higher) and a southerly wind, bright blue skies - totally differnt day. I had one brown that was 17", 3 under and all the rest were rainbows, maybe 2 1/2 pounds tops. Didn't take a picture all day of the fish. The bigger brown today gleeked big bulbous eggs all over the boat, red in the middle like they were spawning ?
Caught one small mouth on Monday, about 2 pounds, Dad had a NICE smallie on today about 3 pounds and it come off at the boat.
We were throwing crankbaits believe it or not, a ways above Calico.
