I have been told that the State is getting ready to raise the cost of the CCL, and if you are wanting one you had better get it soon. I don't know how much it is going to go up, but right now the cost of the license is around
$140.

The cost right now is $144.25, mailed mine off Monday.
i wonder if the cost increase is because they have to put your picture on the license now? i doubt the cost of a cheap piece of blue paper went up
The form we filled out had $144.00 listed on it, the instructor had us mark out the $144.00 and write in $144.25, I don't know if that's all the increase they are talking about, but it was an increase.
Just don't pay it!
... and don't get caught carrying unlicensed.
I am real intrested in getting my ccl. Is there a website that shows all the rules and regs of where you can carry and cant. What about other states can you carry in those with an AR ccl.

Do a search for Arkansas State Police, when you pull up the site, there will be a tab for Concealed Carry, click on it, all the rules are there as well as the reciprocal states.

I took some relatives today to take their CCW class.
They are proud of that extra .25 included on the $144. I knew a guy from Bradford that send all of his in first class mail and got it back a couple of weeks later with a note wanting .25 or no license. I guess he didn't read the fine print close enough. :smack:

part of the test is to see if you can follow instructions.... Just kidding!
That's funny flint!!!

I thought the same thing when I read that!!!!

Seriously, they actually do return whole packets for even lesser mistakes!!!!

When Mom and Dad taught the class, we would help fill things out, do the finger prints, and then go back over everything at least a couple of times before we were brave enough to send them off. I don't remember any of ours coming back for anything other than un-readable prints, but we sure heard horror stories. Part of the application is correctly assembling the application....
What kind of background violations can prevent getting a CCL? I had a misdomeaner from back in the 80's in California. I got in a fight on the beach. Oops. I just saw it in the link above. I guess I'll be alright.
Does anyone know when the rate change will go into effect? Or what the new cost will be? Thanks!!
...I think it already did. Best to check the State Police website to verify, though.
My wife and I sent ours off last week it was 144.25. I will be glad when it comes in. I was told to expect it in 119 days.
