    I taught my son when he was about that age. Got his first one with a single shot 22 at about 35 yards.

    My dad and I were talking about that today. You just don't see any rabbit dogs down here any more. I'd absolutely love to have a couple of beagles that wouldn't run deer.

    Deer running is not much of a problem if you don't mind investing in some electronic collars. I don't know if I would have the patience to own beagles without them.
