I might hunt some property near the MS river tomorrow. Im not very familiar hunting that close to the river. Anyone here hunt near it much (around NEA)? Many birds flying the mighty MS?
It's just a little slough off the river (private ground). I'm gonna scout it tomorrow and probably hunt it Sunday. We'll see. Wonder if the pm hunting would be worth a try?
I've hunted the ms alot and when we hunt we depend on "flight" ducks... I havent been in a couple weeks. But for us it normally doesnt get good till 9am. Afternoons arent bad especially if you've got food.
As mentioned above action often picks up midmorning, no reason to believe we will get a push of new birds soon so my advice would be to pack a lunch and get comfortable. Even on days when you don't see much you can scratch some singles and pairs if you stick it out.
