I'm a trapper, and I don't think they were. I don't know any trapper that would try to release a bobcat without a catch pole, and even then, you never turn your back on one, or he'll jump on your back, just like that one did, even one in a box type trap will stall and if you turn your back he'll jump at ya.. Maybe they are new to trapping coyotes, and it is early, but they look more like some of the "crowd" releasing someone elses catch. Either way, they at least need to educate themselves a little better before they get hurt.
