Bought my wheat for the fall food plots. 4000 pounds at $9.50 a bag for 80 bags. What are you guys paying in your neck of the woods?

$10 a bag for pasture wheat and $15 a bag for certified seed. I use the pasture wheat on food plots.

Local hardware store has it $23 a 50lbs bag I think... They tend to be higher on everything though but it's the closest place within 30 minutes so they usually get my money

I envy you having the time and resources to plant 4000 pounds of wheat on your food plots. What is your acre to pound ratio ?

I picked up 10 bushel for around $6.00 each a few weeks back. I don't know how well it'll grow, but the dove are tearing it up.

200 lbs per acre on a total of 10 acres that will be deer plots later, but dove plots now. 150 lbs per acre on everything else that is just for the deer. I have one plot that is a creek overflow that could grow anything - about an acre - and I go with 100 lbs per acre on it.

Going to be planting about 27 acres of wheat this fall - might have to buy a little more wheat - and about 2 acres pure clover.

I think we used 3 or 4 bushel for a plot a little over an acre. Will plant again mid September rain willing.
