How Many is Too Many???

I was just curious of how many people is too many to hunt out of one hole? I've seen pics of 20+ people in a hole and I just couldn't imagine. I would like to at least know what duck I shot and know the people I am hunting with in a hole.

depends on the situation.....the layout of the whole.....i prefer 4-6......but if we got the birds....i love havin lots of folks
All depends upon who it is. Years ago, when I hunted everyday - there were four of us who pretty much made the season together. We knew who did what and what duck to shoot. Sometimes we took one more person and it messed up everything. Sometimes we had four more who pretty much knew what they were doing and it worked alright. Depending upon how the ducks are working and how they enter the hole makes a big difference. But I would say, from my experience, 20 hunters is too many for any hole. Mosty, I now hunt by myself and I feel like two hunters is one too many.
Six is about right but anywhere between 4-8 is usually fine depending on the hole. I have hunted with 20+ before on several occaisions when there were lots of birds but it's not something I would do now. Just not that mad at them anymore, I typically use duck hunting as a way to spend time with friends and family and rewind from bowhunting.

X2 I agree
4-6

Edit: That really didn't answer your question. More than 10 is too many for one spot.

Safety 1st. I knew a guy that got his elbow shot off in college because someone was too close and not paying attention. I think there were about 15 that day. That could happen with just 2 people, but I like to at least know where everyone is at in the hole.
Four maybe five about maxes it out for me.
Three or four is plenty for me. Most of the time, it's just me or myself and a buddy.
Depends on the hole. If it is to deep on one side, that means everyone will pack over to one side. This makes for someone getting busted and ducks flaring off. Ive hunted with groups of 14 in the metro and have had a good time. The problem with that big of a group is, there is always one or two that looks straight up and are moving all the time flaring ducks. When the sun come up, they are on the wrong side of the tree with there guns shinning and such. I like to hunt with 4 to 6.
The more people the more ducks ya can kill, but also the harder it is to kill a limit. I prefer 6-8 myself.
All depends, on the hole, the blind, the ducks, etc, but i like to hunt in a smaller group, say 4-6. I have hunted with a group a 10, we had a good time, kilt some ducks, but still too big for me. To each his own though. There are preferences, but no single "right" answer as to the size of a group.
Me and 16 other people hunted a certain giant hole in NEA we all limted out and even though that was a TON of ducks we killed i would not do it again i prefer two people. Me and my buddy we know what we're doin and instead of calling againt each other we call to each other talkin back and forth like ducks. I cringe at the thought of 4 people and i do not like taking new people i'll take kids all day but 30 year old guys who never learned to call i dont like taking.
I have hunted 17 people and it went great!!!! but it only works one of two ways.

1. There has to be designated callers no more than three when the ducks get close.

2. You have to take turns calling three at a time and when your not calling your nose needs to be against a tree

Depends on the hole.

Late in the year finding open timber is often better than a actual hole as the ducks become hole shy...........

Trying to hunt too many people in that situation is really tough unless everyone is a good caller........
15 that know what they are doing can go flawless. When it does happen and you kill out its something special. I'll shoot with 15 of the right guys any day.
5 or 6 is perfect! Hunted up to 17, that's a cluster F.....about 10 is PLENTY! If you got a lot of ducks, I guess 20 is fine, but you gotta have ALOT of ducks.......
The big numbers seem to be typical of the class of '99. Not sure why anyone would want to hunt with 14 people, but that picture strokes their ego I guess.
Prefer 4 but will go to 6. Any more will cause issues in one way or another.
