So my wife thinks defense guns are stupid. She shows no interest and doesn't want me to have them. However she does know that I carry and doesn't say anything about it.

I think things changed considerably this past weekend. We were in Pine Buff at her dads house and I took a turn into the hood. A pimped out caddy pulled up next to us and the divert opened his door. Now this was a narrow road and was right next to my wife and my 16week old baby in the back seat. The guy spit, stared us down and drove off. I was a littler uneasy but my wife was terrified. She asked if I would have been able to shoot around her. When I told her I left it at home BC I can't carry it into church, she freeked out!

Typical wife....damned if I do damned if I don't! She said the only reason she didn't panic was BC she just new I had my gun pointed at the guy ray to shoot. She goes on to say let's go back and get the gun. Ahhh haaaaaaaa....finally she sees that i'm not just a paranoid Her eyes were opened and she agreed to go to the range and shoot a few guns. I bought a small gunvault to keep by the bed while I'm out of town. Hopefully this will lead to a new gun purchase.

Yup my wife used to be terrified of guns. Until I showed her how all of them operated she just thought they could go off at any minute. Now she has a 9mm, .22 mosquito, and a 12guage ready to go when I'm not in town.

When they are put in a situation like that it usually changes their mind on gun ownership.

Glad no one got hurt and it all came out well.

Cold reality has a way of re-shuffling our priorities. The good news is that this could lead to more firearms purchases, and maybe some training and a CCL permit for the missus!

Too bad it didn't change Senator RC Soles mind. After he shot an intruder he still refused to change his anti-gun stance. I am glad to see your wife has changed her mind. My wife is wanting a CCW permit now as she takes our daughter to chemo every other week in LR and is getting a little more scared every time she goes

I have no idea what the guy was doing but I don't think he had any bad intentions. However, it sure changed my wifes views. Glad it happened.

He was just trying to intimidate you. Just call his bluff and he'll back down as soon as he sees you're not afraid. In that situation, what you do is, get out of the car, pop a cig in the corner of your mouth and say, "Got a light, cuz?"

Trust me. What could go wrong?
