I saw where Hobbs Conservation unit is having a drawing for there turkey hunts this year. 10 opening weekend 10 the next. Will the rest of hobbs be shut down?

That's what I'm assuming. There hasnt been many birds out there the past few years any way.

I never hunted Hobbs last year anyhow. I scouted it some in March and didnt hear a single bird.
I tried Madison Co WMA last year. There are birds there, but it is CROWDED!

I hunted Hobbs with some success but dont guess i will this year

Been about 15 years since I've hunted Hobbs. Never turkey hunted it, but saw quite a few there while bowhunting back then. Brings back some good memories. Hard to believe only 10 permits for the whole thing!

2000 was the first year that I turkey hunted Hobbs, and there was a ton of birds then. They're few and far between now. Still, 10 permits is kind of ridiculous.

I listen for 4 or 5 days before the season last year didn't hear a single bird....I went to some private land over in Madison Co. tues (first week) heard 10 or 12 (didn't know the land..didn't kill any). I'm gonna go over there this year and thump some heads. I've walked it out and the owners son saw 2flocks of 8-10 bearded birds first of last week..??????"Maybe"
but I'm goin' over there anyway...
