I bought my license yesterday along with my waterfowl stamps. Something new this year is the federal stamp will be mailed to you like the state stamp the last few years. Also I was told that the federal stamp went up $2.00 this year. I guess woodypeckerwood needs more cash.:arkie:

I bought mine yesterday and was handed both stamps right there. And my federal stamp still says $15 on it and that's what I payed. If you payed $17 I'd say you got swindled.

Hello everyone,
No! Walmart itself does not charge $2.00 extra if you buy you Federal stamp on your license. The code is FDE = Federal Duck Electronic. The $2.00 is a service charge that is collected by the AGF&C and AMPLEX (which is the company that distributes the federal stamps). I know because I am a license dealer myself and the $17.00 fee is programed into the machine by them (AGF&C). We, as license dealers, are NOT allowed to deviate from the pricing set by the State and Federal agencies. I have been told that Federal waterfowl stamps will still be available at your local post office for the normal fee of $15.00. It is only if you buy them ON the ALS machine at a dealer that you will pay the $17.00 and have it mailed to you. Hope that makes it as clear as mud. Good shooting out there!

I ran into this in Magnolia about 4 years ago at Steve's Outdoor World they charged me an extra $3 making it $25 because I paid with a debit card. I should not have been surprised though this is the same store that tried to charge me $30 dollars for a pack of 5 speed loaders for my son's muzzleloader and at that time you could get those things at Wal Mart for about $10.
