Man I heard a story and seen a pic from a fellow member today of a great buck that was taken in NEA. This buck was huge and was said to score 182. He's a slick 12pt. The story I was told was a guy I went to school with shot this huge buck and had his hands around the buck and everything. He went to get his 4-wheeler and when he came back the buck was gone. I dont know if someone got it or if it got back up and took off. Well this guys neighbor kills the buck the next day.......

He was supposedly telling his buddys he shot it with his cross bow at night using a street light in front of his house. Then they tell me the guy asked the Supposeded poacher for his arrow back and the guy gave it to him. He then took all his evidence to the G&F and they are doing an investigation.

anyone hear anything about this?????

This is ridiculous. I have seen some pretty low things over the years but this has got to take the cake. If this is how this happened. I hope the guy gets the deer back. My luck the theif probly cut the horns off and messed them up.

Well Silent it looks like you know the story. Do you have any info to add. I know TM has made up some tall tales in his day but this one sounds halfway ligit....
Everything I've heard has been second hand. I don't know what to think other than to say there ain't no telling with him. It sounds like one of his stories :) I'm interested to hear how it all shakes out. On a side note, it's a great deer and I've seen a few different pics of it and I don't think it will go 180s. My guess is 168-172. Still a great deer, it will be a shame if it really was poached.

My brothers uncle -n-law held this rack yesterday and said its as big as it looks. The guy that killed it works at monroe. Still dont know if it was poached or not though. They said it was scored and netted 180 and some change.

I bet he has Mid 20 inch mainbeams plus 22 in inside spread, then add up mass and 10 tine lengths and I think it will be close. I have seen several other photos of this deer but they have faces of people in them. They would give you a better look.

He does look a lot bigger in the other photos than he does in the trailcam. In my guestimates I was allowing for 26" beams, 38" of mass, 22" spread and 56"-60" of tines. I'm assuming I'm under estimating his tine length.
