You cant really hunt Lake Dardnelle itself because it all surrounded by private property. You might be able to hunt a little further up river but, good luck and be prepared to be patient their will be quite a few hunters out there. AGFC doesnt have any maps though.

so it sounds like people are hunting the river north of the dlake rather than the lake it self I talked to the GF they said it was owned by the corps how can it be private if they own it?

The entire lake all the way up to the the dam in ozark is all corps land. Nobody owns water front land, the corps surveys a flood plain easement, It is marked with white paint and white t posts.Lots of Islands lots of bottoms. Plenty of geese for all of us. Come on over.

If your not familiar with the area then I would really do my scouting first. Yes there are people that have water front property in fact there are folks that own islands but they just dont throw a fit about the hunters.

The Corps does own the lake and the land up to the HIGH WATER MARK ONLY after that it is private and trust me you will know it is if you go to hunt it. Lake Dardanelle WMA covers from almost to Ozark to Russellville. It is mostly the river its self as the lake is just a resivoir on the river. The birds are very smart on the lake its self. The 'Tar Pits" I real sure where you are talking about there are strip pits but no tar pits. And they will be very crowded to say the least with hunters and fisherman both.

BUT like Froman said you better have a boat.

Oh and ther aint any geese on Lake Dardanelle.

No one owns any private islands on lake Dardanelle. You are wrong about that (Ozark pool yes). As far as water front property. I guess I could claim to own it. Although I can't cut any trees or even trim any limbs if they (Crops) wanted to they could keep me from cutting my grass on the water. Had to wait for a special permit for years before I could have a dock.

You continue to amaze me. Plenty of Geese? Seriously? We just got through driving a 172 miles, looking for fields with geese in them we saw 2 fields with them there. And one of those fields was 30 yards from a house. If there are plenty of them do tell. :banghead:

And if you say there on the river please tell that also.

I can think of one right now that I know for a fact is privately owned. I have checked with the Corp on it and it has been confirmed.

You must not be too familiar with the lake. Or not be able to see too well, or hear too well for that matter. I am on the water 6 out of 7 days and there hasn't been more than one day that The normal geese islands weren't covered. Just because they weren't there when you looked must mean there aren't any around right? Did you get out on any sand bars and look for some crap or tracks? I doubt it. Also my row cropper friends report that they are on several of their fields everyday like clockwork. If you can't find any let me know. I can possibly point you in the right direction. but I am not about to announce on a forum specific directions to a hole. Anyway, good luck. They are out there, believe it or not. As far as the private island goes I would like to know where it is, because I have about 6 different charts of this lake two are Army corps, and it is not marked on any of them.

I tried sending you a private message but it says your not excepting them. So I guess you can send me one, I would love to know where these "crop fields" are we're there loaded up.

And this mysterious sand bar that has them on it everyday.

You will have to make a trip over here to see for yourself i guess. I don't think there is anything i can say that you will believe. You must be from Missouri. I will try to get some pics Monday I have a fishing trip booked and might be up river by those mysterious Islands.

Well i figured you could hook me up with some private land since there were so many. I cant say that I've been that far up. But I've coverd scratton, paris, hartman, and I prolly saw 100 geese total. I didnt see anything on the sand bars from hartman down either. Maybe I wasnt looking.

And I dunno about the PM either, thats just what it said.

and it just said it again i dunno what to tell ya
