Live from the house this morning. I had planned to hunt today, but I was talking to a guy I take turkey hunting most every year. He's 74, and he hasnt had a chance to deer hunt this year, so I'm gonna put him in the backyard honey hole. Several does and fawns have been showing up between 8:30 and 9:30.

I'm gonna stick around the house. He'll hopefully need help dragging, and my son is sick. Hopefully my wife can sleep in. Let's just say Christmas morning started for us at 2am, and I'm still cleaning throw-up.

I'll post some pics if we get a deer.

Dang wind.
We've been n the stand for 25 minutes. It's just getting daylight. I have my 9 year old with me. If its brown, it's down. The wind is blowing from every direction or so it seems.

We're off to a slow start here. A little rain came up, and we waited it out in the house. I would have liked for him to stay up here because it's only 46yds to the feeder from here. The stand is a bow stand, and the wind is not right. However, this guy came to hunt. He doesnt want to just shoot one off the porch, and I can respect that even if it does booger my stand for a little while. I just hope he can get a shot before they wind him.

It's really calm here, and I hate how the wind can be shifty when it's like that. You just sit there waiting for the breeze to pick up a little so it can get consistent. Seems like all I do in a treestand is sit there and hope for the right wind.

Still in the stand. Occasional light rain and the wind has almost stopped. Gonna just stay put till dark. Still have some coffee in the thermos and it's still hot. Haven't seen a deer all day, but one could appear at any time

This rain is awful. Was in a climber but moved to a ground blind. Have frogg toggs on but my gun , binos, and hands were soaked. And I couldn't use my phone

That's dedication. My cameras showed they moved all day yesterday and last night and nothing today.

Its encouraging to hear all of your tuff luck stories, cause me and my daughter were right there with all of yall up until 11:30. After 5 hours of rain and No deer we packed up and headed home. We put some corn out in the rain and are headin back Wed. night for the 3 day ML hunt! Good Luck to everybody!!

Was at my dads earlier when it was pouring, he said there is some poor sucker out there hunting in this.
