Went fishing this weekend at a Lake Close to the house surrounded by State land. The Turkeys were tearing the bone out, Gobbling all morning. I was in this same area the first morning of turkey season and didn't hear a peep. Just proves that when the escess traffic and pressure arrives, and the gobblers are henned up, the gobblers shut up. Oh yeah, the only thing that made this morning better was the 7.5 lb bass I caought.

Durn... As odd and cool of a spring as it's been, that doesnt surprise me in the least.
We did an overnight float on Crooked Creek last weekend, and I thought for sure we'd hear some gobbling in the morning. We didnt though. Saw a big gobbler on the way home.

Heres a pic of the fish. This pic really doesn't do the fish justice. She was alot bigger than this picture makes out.:smack: I turned her loose in my Father in laws pond.

We went camping this past weekend, 5/25/08, I heard 2 turkeys just a gobblin away across the lake where we were fishing. I actually made them gobble doing a owl call with my mouth. This was at 0930 and my mouth callin sucks. I got excited!

I was at my FIL's place this past week end in East Tennessee and a gobbler was going crazy! He must've gobbled 40 times sometimes double gobbling! My wife went into a sneezing fit and I thought the gobbler was going to stroke out gobbling so much trying to keep up with her!:fit:
