I really like checking for dropping oaks on ridge fingers or points that has an abnormally steep drop on one side. I've noticed bucks to feel comfortable feeding under the dropping oaks during daylight hours. One bound and they can be out of sight off the steep side if a threat arises.

More and more I despise hunting within bow shot of dropping acorn trees, as it seems the longer a deer stays in bow range, the more chance the wind has to swirl and they catch a whiff, or they feed
Downwind.

Ok guys let’s hear all the ways you prepare and the little tricks that you believe works for you during the off season and during the hunt.
I store my hunting clothes in a tote with cedar shaving I still hunt squirrels just like I was deer hunting settle in and see if the deer move in that area mark travel routes and bedding areas I find they change in later season but some hold true for me in early season
