Anybody have or use one of these blinds? It's the fold out mirror blinds for anyone not familiar with these. Looks pretty neat, especially the "runner" which is smaller and lighter. Thinking about one for turkey season. :head:

I have no experience with the ones you buy but I recently saw some DIY videos on Youtube and made my own variation of one last week and I think it will work. I've only got to set it up one time and I have some improvements I want to make. The ones for sale seem a little pricey to me.

Mine is about 40" tall. I've got 6 panels that are 16" wide at the top and 14" wide at the bottom. I halved 40x32 foam board that you can get at the craft stores. It was $20 for that stuff. You might even be able to get it at walmart cheaper. I used one of those emergency space blankets and it had enough mylar to do the whole project. It was like $4. I might have $40 total in it. If I had it to do again (and I probably will spruce mine up).. I would buy a roll mylar because the space blanket has creases that won't completely come out.

Thanks! It is super light which is real nice but it makes tie downs that much more important because it doesn't have any weight of it's own to hold it down.

The ghost blinds that you buy are wider at the top than they are at the bottom and they lean forward just a bit. They will pick up the reflection from the ground and not from the sun. That was the same thought that crossed my mind until a store owner let me take one outside and set it up

Nice. I figured out that you can use corrugated sign board thats used for real estate yard signs. It's expensive, but I already have a 4'x8' sheet out it. I have found some mirrored vinyl ($60 for the amount I need). I'm going to make one. But I did find a friend that has one. I WILL BE BIYING ONE TOO!!!
I'm gonna make one because I can do it cheap! And the "do anything you can cheaper yourself" in me wants to do it.
With my research I have found this....
1. The plexiglass one like the guy makes on YouTube, will run you about $200/$250 to make.
2. The one I'm going to make will be cheap ONLY BECAUSE I HAVE THE EXPENSIVE PART OF THE MATERIALS. It would run about $300/350 to make (but its the EXACT thing you'd get from Ghost).
I'll post pics when I'm done! (It'll be next month when I have free time)
