I found myself a Savage .17 HMR...brand new for $169. Think I'm gonna go get it tomorrow!

I know several of you have Savage .17's. This is the basic blue with a black synthetic stock.

Anyone have one like this & if so, how does it shoot?

I had both the savage like your getting, and the Marlin but with HB. Both shot great. The savage will be alot lighter carrying around.

MallardMaster, I've got the same Savage as what your getting and while it is light for me personally it was to light. I removed the buttplate and filled the stock full of sand....to heavy. Removed the sand and replaced with oil dry and that seemed to balance it out pretty well to what I wanted. Other than that it is an excellent shooter. :thumb:
