Like it says what flat bottom boat and motor are you running? What mods have you done to make it faster and how fast? This part of the forum is dead Almost!

idk if mine is necessarily a "flatbottom", it is a sea ark 1652, modified v... flat for the most part. 1998 johnson 50hp. i havent checked lately, but my father in law tried with his gps, he embellishes everything, but said it hit 37 mph with only him in there.

I’m running a low deck1550 edge coated with hull speed performance coating on the bottom of the boat and a 40hp tohatsu tiller arm with a few mods and a high polished ceramic coated stainless steel prop. With one person 51 mph. Two people 47 mph.

I have a 1650 VJ Xpress fishing rig, with a 25hp Yamaha 4 stroke. It only runs about 25mph with 2 people.....but the fish don't seem to care. If I need to get there faster, I just leave a few minutes earlier....:)

1648 WarEagle with 2017 37 hp ProDrive 70 mph is about all I want.

With 390 hp Tundra in front
  11. Mine goes as fast as I twist the throttle grip.

Typically 20-25 mph. It'll go faster I just dont need to.

Once I hit a log in the lake at about 64mph (that's what the GPS said just a split second before I hit it). That's been about 25 years ago and I still hurt from it. I'm sure water doesn't hurt AS bad as concrete but it still ain't no picnic.

1542 war eagle with 25 two stroke merc - loaded light, 28. Plenty good enough. I worked for a long time on a public lake here in AR and recovered more than one body with a drag hook - almost always for doing something stupid. It aint fun:(

Ok, I am not trying to be a jerk here so please don't take it that way. I don't currently own a boat of any type but I have a legitimate question: Why's everyone so concerned about going so fast in their flat bottom boats? What's the rush?

Whoever gets to the hole quickest gets to see the only 3 ducks flyover the timber once and leave out....

It's kind of a magical thing.....

Until the boats ya beat, skybusts em just outta call range .....
