About an hour after light I spooked a gobler from its roost on the ridge above me while I was sitting on stand. A little later I had 4 deer run right up and stop 10 yards behind me, I get prepared for a shot and hear grunting. The buck and does hold up in a thick spot never giving me an opportunity. Later I had 7 real nice goblers walk with in 40 yards. Right behind them are 4 does out of bow range. Shortly after 4 trumpeter swans fly over. Pretty exciting but came home empty handed.

Yesterday turkeys were gobbling all around.

that sounds like a GREAT day in the woods to me. I would love to have a day like that

The funny thing is that I have bow hunted more then I have in any year prior, maybe 2 combined and seen more deer then any year and it just hasnt worked out for me this year. I lost the only deer I have had a shot at and it still bothers me. I sure have had a bunch of memorable hunts though.
