I've only been at my place for a year now. I've never turkey hunted before but am interested in trying it out. I have 5 acres with most of it wooded and fields with a small pond. While out checking for deer sign today after the rain, I startled a couple of hens. Excites me that I may be able to hunt on my own property rather than on lease. My question is what can I do to bring more turkey in and provide them with what they need to thrive? Also I don't want to hunt out my turkeys if there are only a few. What is the best way to determine the number of birds that are in the area. I'm located in Hot Springs Co if that helps.

What is the best type of foodplot??
  3. That one is oats, wheat, clover, and turnips.....lots of lime and triple 13. Deer and turkey are all over it right now.

Hope it is still holding gobblers like that in April.
