With my son getting old enough to hunt with me now, I feel I need to slow down the callmaking. I will still be making calls, BUT I have to have time to show him about preseason scouting! Usually from February till season starts EVERY chance I have was spent in the shop. I can't do that anymore, our father-son relationship is much more important! If you just have to have a call, go ahead and call or email me. If I have time I will get one built.

Looks like you have your priorities in the correct order. No one should fault you for that. Lord willing, there will be time down the road to devote more energy to call making again.

I have not bow hunted much this year, which is becoming the norm these days, and was itching to go Saturday afternoon. The boys were busy playing, so I got my climber and everything loaded. I forgot something in the house and went back in. My oldest boy came in the kitchen, raised his eyebrow, and asked, "where you going?". It was almost as if I was cheating on him going by myself. Five minutes later we were both rolling down the road heading to the woods and had a great time.

I saw Mike Friday and had not seen this post until last night. For those that have never met or talked to Mike, he is a super guy and it does not surprise me at all that he wants to spend his time wisely. He is the person that got me to join this site and I have been somewhat addicted since.

Mike it's Eric had to use wifes username mine won't take. I thought I was the reason you were cuttin back. I told the boys we were planning that Kansas trip for them and they liked that idea. We got to get these kids trained up, so they can call them up for us!!!

Need to clarify...I'm not going to STOP making calls. I just need to have some weekend time with the kids. This is mainly for those that wait till the last minute to make an order. Used to I wouldn't turn down an order, but now I may have to turn down those late ones. Also there will probably be a little longer turn-around time of possibly 2-3 weeks. So if your wanting a call, get a hold of me pretty soon and I'll get tuit!
