I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado and the door makes a popping sound when I open and close it. Looking online, I have determined the culprit is the bushing in the Door Check Strap or Link. What is the purpose of this Check Strap? I plan to replace it because it's annoying. Any info is appreciated,

my door is doin the same on my tahoe.. have you found anything else on this?
