After pricing :down: some of the aluminum dog boxes for my truck, I quickly decided that I was gonna build my own outta ply wood... Anybody mind sharing any dimensions and/or tips on homemade boxes? I really don't need a big one, I have a feist.

You should look into getting a KornerStone dog box. I know what you mean about the aluminum boxes, they are outrageous.

I made mine out of 3/4 inch plywood. It's a T shape that fits in the bed of my truck. Fits tight between the fenders and against the tailgate to keep it from sliding around.

Mine is pretty big I have a hound. I doesn't cost much more to build one that will hold 2 dogs

This box is neither plywood or aluminum but seeing it is in its 20th year of sevice or hauling coonhounds. I would say its a good box. Best thing its cheap to build and want rot like plywood.

i built one this week out of street sign aluminum that i got for free from the street department .it turned out pretty nice too.got about 40 dollars in hardware .

If I only had one fiest, I would just get one of the plastic pet carriers and use that. It'll be cheaper than the plywood, and last alot longer too.
