I was late going to my duckhole this morning.I got pulled over for a license plate light not working,I could've put my seatbelt on when he pulled me over. But I figured he would see me putting it on.
Anyway I got a warning for the light out and a ticket for no seatbelt.
Does anyway know what it will cost me?........I can find out by calling the courthouse tomorrow but I thought someone on here might know.

25 bucks and I bet it was a trooper too! Seatbelt money goes to the state not local so most Leo's I know don't write them.

Yea it was a trooper.Damn near made me late for duckhunting,I'd have been pissed if i would have missed the morning fly-up.
  6. It used to be $25 bucks .......and IMO it nothing more then a revenue making law!! BS to fine people for not using a seat belt in a car/truck and allow a motorcycle rider to go without a helmet........not that I am against the no helmet law just doesn't make sense to make the car operator belt up for "safety" and allow a motorcylist to ride bare head.....what about the state keeping all of us safe??:head:
  7. Yeap, $25.. BIL got one on the way to the river Tues. for no trailer lights $150.00..

I think I should be able to decide if I want to wear a seatbelt or not.I don't enjoy being told i have to wear one.Yea its for my safety i know,we got enough damn laws telling us how we should live!

Exactly the way I feel. Much like our game and fish commission. Elitist...Karl Marx...the father of socialism explains it better than I could. We are governed by elitist...some call them Democrats...same thing. Just socialist in disguise.

Elitist:The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.

$35 here, $25 base fine with a couple $5 fees that are added to all the tickets I believe. I really don't have a problem with this law. It aint gonna hurt you to wear it, and it could very well save your life. A lot of times folks will write you for the seatbelt and give you a warning for whatever you got stopped for, so in that case you actually saved money.

Oh, and the money, or at least a portion of it, goes towards buying the child safety seats that are given away at the car seat clinics held all over the state.

FB might know how much one is in Texas.

  18. What you have to do is wear shirts that have a diagonal grey seatbelt design across the front, then everybody's satisfied.

You ought to wear it because it could save your life not because they tell you that you have to. Guess you've never had to cut someone out of a car or pick a vehicle up off of someone who was thrown under it. I wear mine because I would like to make it home to see my kids, not because they tell me I have to. Law or not it is still the smart thing to do.

Well.... I have to enforce it nad even write it sometimes. But I still don't agree with it either. Child restraints are a wholly different matter and I will write those everytime I see 'em.

But I think grown folks can decide for themselves whether they wear it or don't.
