I fish a lot, but mainly for catfish. Last year I caught some bass, and I'm considering bass fishing a lot more this year. Do any of you have any tips as far as what time of year is best, and what they may bite on this time of year. I'm located in the north east part so any locations around here I should try ? Thanks Cody.

I know the Alabama rig is hot right now. Jigs, shaky heads, and drop shots should ne good as well. Soon it will be jerkbait time. Which is one of my favorite ways to catch them. Put a lipless crankbait in your arsenal as well. Good luck

For starters you can't beat a Texas rigged plastic worm.I like a black 6'' zoom worm with 1/4oz bullett weight. In low water temps fish slow.Drop shot rig is alittle more advanced but is very effective. In the spring into summer i like top water, try a pop-r or buzz bait.

I dont know if you have a depth finder but if you do find a drop. Something like 7ft to 12ft pretty quick and start cranking it. Maybe find an underwater bridge and throw a ratltrap in that. Jerkbaits, jigs, and shaky fished unimaginably slow. Just keep at it! Dont give up on them, its on right now it just might take a little time :)

Thanks for you replies so far. I didn't mention I have a tackle box full of crank baits I'm not sure how to use. Thanks to my grandpa, and uncle who buy tackle boxes full of this stuff and they don't use it . I don't have a depth finder I just have a little Jon boat for now . I do intend to get a depth finder though.

I have threw the banjo minnow once or twice. Never had much luck. Biggest bass I have caught was maybe 3 pounds and I caught it with a warm and a floater as I was reeling in. Caught two that day like that.
