$250 per day to move the problem to someone else.:down:Sorry if this has been discussed already. Did I hear correctly that the city is paying a guy $250 per day to use his two border collies to harass the geese each day in an effort to encourage them to search for greener pastures elsewhere? Wow, $250 per day is some good cash. Looks like I am in the long line of work. Seems that permit hunt would have been a whole lot cheaper. You reckon those who fought against the hunt will step up and pay?
Sounds like a job for me and my new air rifle!!!!Close the park at sundown and a couple of guys with night vision and suppressed subsonic rifles could take care of the problem in about 2 nights and PETA would be none the wiser.
NLR, Burns ParkWhat town are yall referring to. I cant believe with todays economy someone would OK such a waste of money. I'd be ticked off.
Poor some cheap Coke product on it...isn't that what the ASP uses on the road to clean up after a bad accident? It's hard not to leave blood on the ground.
From what I've seen you'd fit right in. :fit:Yep. You heard it right. Just another example of a waste of taxpayer money because some tree-hugger is upset that some geese are gonna be getting killed. The geese will run off when the dogs are there and fly right back. Some dang good money for a job where absolutely nothing is getting done. I gotta get me a Pulaski County Public job.
Ouch fro man, you going to take that? From what I've seen you'd fit right in. :fit:
I understood this to be all donated funding by one of the save the goose groups, not city funds. :shrug:I just calculated the $250 a day times 60. Which my way of thinking you'd have to be out there everyday to be effective. That fella is gonna make $15,000. Not to shabby for 2 months worth of work. I was thinking of taking off in the winter time and heading to Alaska to drive on the ice roads, but this seems a whole lot easier:fit:
