Found this while gutting a buck I killed this evening. It was in a pile of jelly that used to he his heart.... Any ideas what it is? And if the deer would still be safe to eat.. Killed several deer and never seen one of these worms.

I have no idea. I'd call it a heart-worm, lol. It's probably safe to eat the meat, but I'd look it up.

I've killed ducks and other birds with worms in the breast meat, and I heard it was safe to eat after cooked, but I don't eat that.

Does it have a flat tail? Only thing I can think of is a liver fluke

Not a liver fluke. Might be a arterial worm from horse flies? Or another type of worm. Everything has parasites, unless vaccinated and wormed out.
