Just to let everyone know there will be a deer management seminar in Searcy this weekend January 19th. The meeting is titled "The Buck Stops Here" and will start at 8:00 a.m. and will end at 3:00 p.m. It will be held at Eagleview lodge. Cost will be $25 per person and $35 per couple. There will be several speakers discussing topics such as aging deer by their teeth, deer biology and nutrition, and making food plots from native plants. For more information you can contact the extension office at 501-268-5394. This will be a good informational seminar to attend if you can.
There will also be a Quail and Songbird habitat workshop on February 1 and 2 at the Winthrop Rockefeller Center. This Seminar is geared toward training private landowners on the biological needs of quail and songbirds, beneficial land management practices, and state and federal resource programs that are available to them for land assesment and habitat establishment. Overnight lodging is available by calling 501-727-5435
