Will be going soon to the Newton and Whitewater, Ks area to look over a possible lease for 2013 gun season. If anyone has hunted in general area or would care to share their knowledge of the area and it's potential regarding the deer in the area, I would certainly appreciate.

I haven't hunted Newton, KS but have been through there several times on I-35. We have always seen several deer from the interstate between Wichita & Salina. It should be pretty good. Good luck!

I travel through the area a few times a year. I have seen some great deer on the highway that cuts through between El Dorado and I-35 through Whitewater. A couple of those being in the 170 to 180 range. I also saw a pie-bald buck that would have scored near 140 to 150. If you are looking for another guy to go in on a lease I might be interested. If not, good luck and post up some pictures because I'm sure you will see something to write home about.:thumb:
