143gr Hornady ELD-X in 6.5 PRC, 117gr Hornady SST in 25/06, 60r Nosler Ballistic Tip in .223, 150gr Winchester Extreme Point in .300WM for deer
200gr Hornady ELD-X in .300WM for elk.
Of all these I am probably the most surprised by how well the Nosler BT (running 3200F/S) in .223 work on deer. We've killed 6 deer in the last 2 years with my Ruger American Ranch Rifle and 60gr BTs and all have been one shot kills, all were through and through or bullet under the hide on the offside and every deer either dropped in it's tracks or didn't go over a few yards after being hit. 2 of them went through both shoulders. I've been impressed with them.
Anything .308” and up. Brand or construction doesn’t matter much at all through the boiler room of a whitetail. Mostly I use Hornady in anything I can find, but Sierra, Speer, or Winchester works the same…. two big holes and the bullet is out in the dirt somewhere so I almost never recovered any.
