What is the best way to break a curr dog from running deer?

we use shock collar and hunt a finished dog , if the young dog goes and finished dog doesn't , ouch

i used to raise fox hounds and was ranked in the top 3 for south east trials for a while. we endurence trained our dogs on deer... if you realy want it broke put it in an 8 by 8 pen with a stout billy goat for a week.. it works good

My grandad told me to put the dog in a 55 gal drum with a deer hide put the lid on and roll it down a hill....Good luck

We always used a 55 gallon drum with a lid.....put the dog in, put the lid on, open the bunghole and squirt deer scent in, then roll down the nearest hill....if you don't have a hill, you hafta tip it up on edge and twirl it round and drop it a few times, but watch out for your toes...if you roll the edge across your big toe, the nail will come off!:razz::up:
