Got a 1548 Weldbilt with pods in the rear that are not connected. I would like to cut the sides open and remove the foam to put my battery/storage in there. Has anyone ever cut them open and removed the foam? Is there any problem that I may run in to as far as floatation? Will it make it less bouyant?

It won't affect how your boat floats on the water at all. What the foam does is keep your boat from sinking when it takes on water, or is swamped.

Weldbilt builds boats without foam in them at all and they float just fine. You may be able to take it to them and have them make you a dry storage in your pods
