Don't use TIM'S HUNTING SUPPLY. It took me over two months to get my light. Once you order you can forget talkin to them again. I ordered a mini 21v pink light and it took me to make theartin emails about takin them to small claims court to actually get my light!! Once I had got it I love it great lil belt light! But that woman running it is doin exactly that runnin that place straight in the ground!

I am about to buy a new light for coon hunting, but I am not sure which one. Are the light weight models worth the price difference? I dont really want to carry 4-5 lbs around in the mountains... Opinions/recommendations please on a good buy....
check Coon Hunters Supply. We have the Cajun LED coon hunting Lights. We have the 21 Volt stringer+ with a LED Head and the LED bump cap light. Both are as bright as a 21 Volt light. The weight is about the same as a standard 21V belt light. and the cap light is about 1 1/2 lbs. I have tested the cap light for about a year it is a great light. I have been climbing under houses doing repairs and hunting with this light, frog hunting, setting decoys, going turkey hunting before daylight, and it has never gave me any problem.

It has been awhile since I posted on this thread. I have been using a http://www.fenixlight.com/viewnproduct.asp?id=96 for about 9 months now. It has done real well. I have dropped it in a creek, dropped it on the ground and it has rolled around in my truck. So far the light has held up good and is plenty bright. My buddy has a valley creek and it is just as bright and throws a beam just as well as it. I only paid about $60 bucks for it. Recently I took the strap off and glued some Velcro onto it and a hard hat, making a bump cap out of it. I use energizer rechargeable batteries and also keep a extra set in my vest that I always take to the woods. I use the 2nd setting most of the time which last about 25 hrs @ 55 lumens, on high it will last about 3.5 hrs @ 277 lumens. For $60 im happy with it.

Well you guys are wrong in a lot of ways about nite lite. Now I dont know what they are like now, but my dad bought me one when i was 12 years old. Im 41 now by the way. I used that battery probably until i was in my mid twenties. It was beat all to crap. It was not even a hotlight. It would last 2 or 3 nights of hunting before it needed charging. I think it was better for the batteries to be ran down quite a bit before charging all the way back up. As a matter of fact i used to turn it on in the house just so it would run all the way down then charge it up. I bought the hologen bulbs and blew a few but not bad. They would blow if you had the rheostat all the way on and used the switch on the head. It helped to ease the power up. I used the rheostat all the time to turn the light off and on. the light was as bright as any other light. when I was in my 20's a buddy of mine had a hotlight it was almost just as bright but would outlast it bigtime. Then finally the old battery started not lasting good. So I bought a replacement battery. I never felt like the newer battery was as good as the old one, but it was still good. I just dug it out 3 days ago out of storage The light still works but it wont harldy hold any charge now at all. Guys The old nith lites were a good product, back in the day. And not everyone quit buying nite lites 20 years ago. i had my one light and Ive seen guys go through 10 lights in the time Ive owned one light. I have the same light and bought one replacement battery in 30 years. I figure nite lites biggest problem was they didnt make their lights dummy proof.

I would like some advice on a good led light though. Anybody got any pointers?
I cant speak for all led's, but I bought my kids a crystal cs5 cap lite to share for Christmas. It is brighter than my Tejas 20 volt belt lite, no cords and heavy mess to deal with. I keep wanting to tell them to turn it down til I remember it on the lowest setting. The only thing is it throws a real tight beam. I gave 150.00, i feed after dark and its real convienant for things other than huntin too....

I used a bright eyes for a long time and replace it with a sunfire and loved it so much I bought my 7yr old son the sunspot. The sunspot is bright and has a beam like truck lights and the sunfire is I think the brightest light on the market right now and it has a tight beam. I don't know where your from but their made in Searcy AR and they will stand behind them 100% www.canecreekhuntingsupply.com/ it's worth looking into.
