I'm looking for recommendations on climbers. I'm tired of lugging in my heavy as heck climber on my shoulder. I am looking for something that's light (less than 20lbs) and pretty comfortable. Doesn't have to be a lazy boy in the tree...

I think the lone wolf hand climbers look pretty good. really like how slim they pack down to and how light they are. Anyone have anything bad to say about these?

I really like my Summit, lightwght, and comfy. There are lighter stands, and the lone wolf definitely packs down slimmer, but I haven't used them personally. I'll prolly stick with summits, for no reason other than I know i can stay in em for hours comfortably, and have been in others that friends owned I wasn't so comfy in, and that's a biggy for me. If you end up getting the lone wolf, toss a review up here a few weeks after you get it, and let us all know what you think about it!

I've got a Lone Wolf Sit n Climb. I really like it, but there are definitely some others worth considering.
In my opinion, nothing packs as well or goes on the tree as quiet as Lone Wolf.
I'd like to see an X Stand.

Summit Viper or Goliath if you're a big boy. I've had my viper for 13 years and still love it!

I have looked at those x stands and thought about getting one. They look a little spooky though. I have a old API and it works fine. About time to retire it though.

I've got one of the Viper Elites. It weighs 16 lbs and has the sling seat. I like it a lot but its not perfect yet. Summits carrying straps are a pain in the neck...literally. I need some good pack straps to replace them with. The sling seat is not as comfortable as the original seat but it is acceptable since it packs so much better with this style. Another drawback that I plan on modifying is how the sling seat slides backwards when you stand. I know it's a good thing to have it do that but it moves way too easy.

Its going to make a great stand after I fix these smaller issues.

I bought a Summit viper sd this year. I've used it several times already and the more i use it the more i like it. It's 16lbs instead of 14 since it has the bar around the front. It packs well and the sling seat is ok. It's not as comfortable as the normal Summit seats but it's fine with me. Got it for $249 at Hunter's Refuge during their sale in August. After hunting public land several times last year and doing a lot of walking, i needed a change also.

I have had an API Grand Slam Extreme Bowhunter for about 10 years now and I LOVE it!!! It is beat up, the paint is chipping off, the padding in the armrests has been worn off, the seat is getting threadbare, and the chains could use some new coating but it has seen many hundreds of hours of use. It is easy to put together, lightweight, and comfortable. I will be getting another one soon most likely.

Its hard to beat the chains on my brothers api cuz you can just sling em around the tree and it makes it very easy to set up, i myself have a lone wolf and a summit 180 max. The summit is huge, lightweight and very comfortable, i love it for long sits. The lone wolf isnt as comfortable but its alot easier to shoot from, i find it easier to set up for a quick hunt in a new location but climbing is harder with the lone wolf. You cant really go wrong with any of these brands in my opinion

Summit Viper. Aluminum. My cousin tried to save money by getting the metal (classic). That few pounds makes a difference. I can sit in mine all day. Comfortable.

sorry to hijack but all of you guys that use summit vipers, do you put your seat as high as it goes or as low as it goes. I recently got one and really can't get comfortable in it because my knees are hitting the front rail

I had not seen this summit until now. This will be my next climber for sure. I have almost bought the lone wolf hand climber a dozen times but the seat has kept me from spending that much on it every time. I have an API grandslam extreme that I love and will never part with, but I want superlight climber for my long walks. The X stand sucks, I thought it was a complete piece of junk and got my money back the very next morning. The lone wold sit n climb doesnt really save me much weight, I like the summit openshot but I like this one a lot better with the sling style seat.
