4. the deer mow it for you, but occasionally the native grasses get a little taller and you need to trim it some.

5. chicken litter

it is a very hardy plant. the Imperial Whitetail WINA 100 chicory is the nest we have found. after your native grasses start to greenup, it needs to be sprayed with Arrest herbicide to kill out the grass. it is pricey, 139.00 per gallon for 4 acres, but well worth the results. it goes dormant in the hottest part of the summer, but bounces right back when it starts cooling off and raining again. also, goes kinda dormant in the dead of winter. goes well with clover. the Chicory Plus from Imperial is what we use.

do you know of any chemical to spray for weeds that will not harm the chicory. Is that plot the chic magnet from the whitetail institute? Mine has never gotten as tall as the pic with the fence.
