Anybody have any links or info advice on building box calls?

I have been building box calls for years and I just kind of learned by trial and error. Built one today in fact. Turned out really nice outa solid walnut.

there are several Conservation sites that show you how to build box calls, check yours out. There are also box call kits on the internet, I make one piece box calls, I don't make any glued up. But Neil Cost sure could make 'em!

Well I finished my first box call out of cherry it's very simple but sounds good. Learned a lot. The only problem I have now, is what do I finish it with and not mess with the sound?

I have a couple of squared up walnut logs in the attic that i plan to do that with if I ever retire.
