    Glad I took the shot with my Canon...Turned out my doe after zooming in turned into a small spike

    less than 2 inchs of hard bone, he would have been dead and in the deep freeze with a buck tag on him if he stop to pose like that for me.

    that is exactly closer to the age I was thinking. He's certainly not this years fawn and he's to thick to be last years fawn. My guess is 2 1/2 years old. Secondly, his tarsals are darker than they ought to be for a yearling. He's been rut'n.

    I was walking down the trail coming back from my tree stand that morning...I stopped and took a few pictures of him and he just stood there and watched even after I kept on walking. Guess he thought he was safe since there was still some leaves on

    I've never seen a 2.5 year old deer with horns that small....I'm guessing 1.5....
