Hopefully gonna make a short trip bass fishing this wkend, never been there, and I have been studying topo maps, and have a idea where to go. Just thought I would ask you guys/gals if you have bass fished it, and if so got any pointers? Of course no spots, just areas that maybe produce better fishing than others, it looks to have a bunch of creek arms, and pretty steep banks. Any information is better than what I have, since I've never been there. Thanks!

I’ve crappie fished it a fair amount. Fishes like a small Ouachita I would say. Has some HUGE black crappie in it if you can keep the Kentuckys from attacking your jig. My grandpa used to go down there and slow roll 1/2 spinner baits in the trees this time of year. I really liked the Bee Creek area when I was going down there.

Late to this post.... fished broken bow several times but usually in the summer... fun lake when the spots start to school.

We caught about
50 in 2 days, nothing over 3#, I was kinda thinking the average was a lot bigger, but talking with several locals at the ramp, it's not near what I thought. Still a great lake!

Im planning a camping trip there this summer, hows the summer bite? Early morning schooling action? Whats the lake fish like? Like a comparable lake i.e Degray.. I have no idea....Have always wanted to go there. Gonna make it happen this year.

It's deep and semi-clear.... run up the river and look for schoolers in the summer and get on the bluff banks..... but the better Largemouth will sometimes pull up on those flats that have scattered timber on them also.
It's crazy but there are some drops up the river that go from 1 ft to 50ft in like a 5 ft span..... pay attention to where you run.... it all looks open but it gets sketchy up that river arm in a couple of bends.

Lol......you mean from 1' to 101' in a foot! Amazing for sure, you better know where your going, and better know how that river lays, water is down like everything else, pretty treacherous, timber in spots you don't expect.
