WE HAVE RENTED A CABIN AT cUSTER for our trip I called and spoke with the lady that owns them and she told me" I will have you some mace ready when ya'll get here!" Being I will be staying around Custer and though I have never been there I am thinking "Mace" what in the world would I need mace for????? Its surely not like downtown Little Rock, she then goes and tells me that the Mountain lions are bad this year and one fisherman was attacked a few weeks back- not sure if she was joshing me or what but with a shotgun in my hand not sure I see the need for mace:smack:

It is really good. I had one at a little saloon in North Dakota. Im not sure how popular it is in SD, but I bet you can find one there. Its a small brewery. It's the best ale I ever had. Worth the drive for the ale alone!

Hope you get a nice bird up there. I would love to go back up there to hunt. I have my Rio, and my Osceola, I just need a Merriam's to get my slam.

One day, I hope!

Have fun, and take lots of pictures.

If your at Custer you can easly go to Rushmore and Sturgis in a day and still see the indian ( I say just drive up to the gate snap a couple pictures and drive off cause it'll cost you $10 a person to go in.you can even go to Kevin Cosners hotel/casino in Deadwood/Lead Go to Saloon # 10 if you get there:thumb:

Good luck Buba. We are making the trip next year. Scout it for me.
Tony you got it my friend! I hope to go back next year as well! If you get a chance look at "Waybackinn.com" If we wasnt going with other folks I would seriously consider this place, its a Nice hunting lodge that if I remember sleeps 8 people it has Elk,Caribou, Buffalo mounts all over it really really nice place and the guy quoted me 95 buck a night:thumb: He said the only problem was you are 23 miles from the nearest paved road! I didnt tell him to me thats a added bonus! I am just excited about getting to hunt a area that isnt overrun with "Peckerwoods"

Buba,
Best of luck to you up in the hills.
I'll be headed up to the Ouachitas after work on the 16th. If you're around and not too busy packing then get in touch with me and we might find time to shoot the bull a little.
For now, quit worrying about your trip and scout me up a few turkeys in the Ouachitas. :thumb:
