Alrighty guys need a bit of advice, this is the first time I've had the opportunity to mess with bear... so here's a couple questions. plastic barrel or metal drum? Hole size? I plan on running 2 baits. Ive got the hook up on all the grease I can use.. grease and dog food in one and molasses and oats mixed with corn in the other.. since you can't bait until 30 days before season, I can at least get the barrels ready and out before then! Any little tips or advice will be appreciated:up:

I use metal, but plastic will work. 8" hole above the bottom ring on metal. 2 small holes on back to run chain thru. Grease on food, but really on ground so they get their paws in it and make trails to bait site. Find bread wholesale places and get feed bread cheap. we use 30 gal plastic - and depending on the bait is the hole size

we want the bears to work at the bait, nothing too easy

here is a young bear eating popcorn from one last year
