I made a deal to get some bags of silica gel to keep in gun safes. They have been kept in a humidity controlled room and are in excellent condition. You can reactivate them about twice a year in your oven at 200 degrees for a couple of hours. I can get 10 bags in a USPS flat rate box that costs $9.80 to mail anywhere. I'm asking $1.50 per bag.

What size is the bag? Will one bag handle a big safe in a high humdity environment?

I don't think one would work in a large safe. They weigh about 3/4 lb. I keep 10 in my safe, some on the shelf and some on the floor. They are tough enough for a rifle to stand on them, so don't worry about them taking up space. I refresh mine over and over in the oven. They last almost forever.

BTW- I also put one in my hard rifle case when I go hunting.
