My buddy and I had a good hunt near Oswego, KS. My buddy got one, but I couldnt connect. It wasnt for any lack of trying by us or our outfitter though (Cody Ross 417-529-4416). I guess that's the chance you take with a 2day hunt. We spent some time after birds that were probably a lost cause. The hunt was really reasonable priced, included lodging in a really nice cabin, and they had TONS of land. All around, I'd recommend it.
The birds werent really gobbling on the ground much, but we spotted this bird at about 4pm. We set up, called, and he gobbled. He gobbled 2 more times on the way in. It wasnt 10 minutes later he strutted right up to us.
If you were there in a week, it could get ugly!

Oh yeah... Oswego is only about 2 counties over in KS. They're not technically supposed to have Rio's, but I dont think that dudes got much Eastern in him.

We did that. It was nice to be on birds. Even though they werent gobbling great on the ground, you could at least see them. This is the first I've paid any $ to hunt, but it was worth it.
