Has anyone ever heard of a 22 bullet that is "bolt action only"?
I've never heard of this and dont see why it wouldn't shoot from a auto unless its a pressure issue to cylcle.
Anyone know about this?

A while back I bought some armscor 223 bullets for reloading - they were the most inaccurate I had gotten in a long time- flyers everywhere... maybe I got a bad batch but I never tried them again.

I didn't get them for accuracy, I just hope they shoot.
Mygrandson is coming along with his 22, so this will keep him occupied for a bit.

The price is whst had me. They had 5000rd of lead nose but they were $40 more....so just saving a buck here.

About 8 years ago I was out shooting with a guy that I worked with. He was shooting 36 gr. Armscor high velocity hollow points out of his semi auto. It had a nasty case head separation that could have damaged his firearm, but did not. There was internet scuttlebutt at the time that this ammo may have been a little bit hot. The ammo looked like this stuff. I wonder if they reboxed it thinking that it was safe for bolt guns but not semi autos.

If you can chrono some vs the regular HVel, that will help indicate if it is indeed hotter.

I finally got around to trying this stuff out. Shot it in aBarreta Neos, Savage A22 and a S&W .22 AR.



The Neos has cycled every peice of cheapcrpap I've put in it but it did not like this stuff. About every third round it wouldn't cycle and jam. The A22 was about the same but it had several that was duds, striker shows a good hit but no fire.



However, the S&W did cycle every one that it shot but every 3 out of 7-8 was duds.

I compared that to a box of Federal lead nose. Ran 2 mags (50) through it and only had 1 dud. Out of 1 mag of the AC there was 4 duds.

Thats not very impressive with having to eject every dud in a set of rapid fires.

I only run American, Federal & CCI in my late 80’s Ruger 10/22 Deluxe, all the others do not fare well in it.
