I'm just wondering who all is hunting coyotes and have you had any luck. We have a long spring/summer season but I never hear of anyone hunting them this time of year. Current season runs til June 14th, then reopens July 1st.

I will probably get out 3 or 4 times before it gets very hot but since fuel is so high it will probably be limited to that since I drive to a WMA to hunt.

I been out a couple times but no luck yet. I have found this time of year to be somewhat difficult. The fields are so tall with grass you can't see them and the woods have greened up so much makes it hard to spot them there too. Not to mention all the snakes ticks chiggers and no-see-ums ! I wish you luck, they really need thinned out.

I know what ya mean about the weeds and not being able to see very far. I'm gonna hunt the farm field edges, they wont be to tall until a month from now since they just got planted.

I probably won't start until mid October, when it cools some. It's hard for me to sit still this time of the year.

I usually just stick to my conventional rabbit in distress, and I also have a bird in distress call I like. And a little mouse squeeker.

I have the wounded woodpecker decoy and a woodpecker in distress call, I am going to try pup in distress too.

Yep it'll work and ya might just get to see an old doe come running toward ya too. It happened to me one year. If your close to where she has it bedded down, she'll come running to see what has a hold of it.

Hi, where are you coyote hunting this time of the year? I can't find anywhere in the season dates where there is a coyote hunting season this time of the year. Any help in finding the regulations would be appreciated.

I was under the impression every zone in the state was open till June 14th. Then it reopens July 1st.

I am going in the morning, maybe till mid morning, depending on how bad the heat gets and mosquitos, bugs, etc get.

Where are you finding the information about spring coyote hunting seasons? Is it in the hunting guide book? If it is, what page?

Ok, well the AGFC website says till June 14, but the 07-08 guidebook says until the last day of spring squirell which is June 8th on page 53. Here's the link to the website-

Under "furbearers" and then "coyote hunting" it from the first day of turkey season until June 14th.

I'm unclear as to when the season ends :dontknow:, and now I dunno, it to late to find out for in the morning. This is very aggravating

You're comparing the 2007-2008 guidebook to what they recently approved for 2008-9 which probably explains why the end dates for spring squirrel are slightly different. They moved up the start of coyote hunting to July 1 starting July 1, 2008.

:nod: Gosh I feel like an idiot. Its a good thing I took a second look last night. I was set to go this morning. I went bass fishing instead and had a good time doing that so it worked out OK.
