Since you are located in Van Buren, I would try the Arkansas River. However, I have caught more flatheads on the cache river than anywhere else. It seems flatheads hold a very high percentage of the catfish in that river.

Z-Man,
Try below any of the lock and Dams on the Arkansas River. Also try along bluffs on the outside bend of the river and around sunken trees in deep holes if you can find them with a locator. There are some monsters in the Arkansas River.

The Arkansas River is a great flathead hole, as are some of the other waters mentioned. However, you might want to look up some advice from Keith "Catfish" Sutton. He probably knows about as much as humanly possible about Mr. Whiskers - whether he be a madtom or a big blue. I know he has mentioned Millwood and the Little River below the dam there. If you want to learn more, you might want to see if you can find one of his books.

The Ozark pool on the Arkansas River suppose to be one of the best areas. Lake Conway has a large population of Flatties also.:thumb:

Caught on a noodle last summer at Nimrod.

Conways cats from several years ago on rod and reel.

Old state record snagged at Murry lock and dam.

More Conway cats caught on rod and reel.
